Crafting Lakeside Bliss: Our DIY Cabin Retreat

Nestled on the serene shores of Curve Lake First Nation on Chemong Lake, our little slice of paradise began as a dream—a vision of a cabin retreat where the tranquility of nature meets the comfort of home. Armed with determination and a love for hands-on projects, we embarked on the journey of building our cabin using a pre-fab shell, surrounded by the beauty of our cleared trees.
​Foundation of Dreams: The journey began with the meticulous task of clearing the land, (BIG thank you to Nelson, Willie, Eddie, Jonas and my fabulous Husband<3)  a labor of love that laid the groundwork for our lakeside haven. With a cleared canvas, we set the foundation, ensuring a solid base for the memories and moments that would unfold within the walls of our cabin.
Prefab Magic: Opting for a pre-fab shell streamlined the construction process, offering a balance between efficiency and customization. The skeleton of our cabin quickly took shape, (Thank you Jer!) promising a cozy retreat with a front-row seat to the ever-changing dance of the lake. Warming the Heart: The heart of our cabin beats with the comforting warmth of a WETT-certified woodstove. Not only does it provide a snug atmosphere during chilly evenings, but it also adds a rustic charm, inviting tales and laughter around its flickering flames.
Pine Elegance: Inside, the walls wear the timeless beauty of pine—a nod to the surrounding forest and a homage to classic cabin aesthetics. The natural hues and textures create an inviting interior, seamlessly blending with the outdoor canvas that unfolds beyond our windows.
Laminate Floors, Lifelong Memories: Underfoot, laminate floors provide the perfect balance of durability and aesthetics. They withstand the comings and goings of sandy feet and wet swimsuits, ensuring that the essence of our lakeside retreat is captured in every step.
